Q. How can I get Remote Access to the Library's Electronic Resources?

Answer:

Update 5/11/2022.

LOOKING FOR FULL TEXT?

Whether you are searching our E-journal holdings, or following a link back from PubMed or Ovid, or searching our Catalog directly, you'll need to know where to look for Full Text.  Look for the "Available Online" link.

New England Journal of Medicine record

Follow that link, and you'll see our Electronic Holdings. Please pay attention to the coverage statements and any restrictions (for instance below, you'll see that the Westlaw access is for the Law School only AND the "Biological Science Collection" has a 3 month embargo).  When you click on one of these links, then you'll be prompted to log in (see below).

Off-Campus must use their University of South Carolina network credentials (i.e. Blackboard, Main Campus email, etc) to authenticate for the use of Library Resources.  For an in depth look at the changes to off-campus access please visit this Tutorial.  When you first click on a restricted link, the login screen will look like this:

  1. Most of our Users will choose "Students, Faculty, and Staff.   Use your main campus login, the same one you use for Blackboard.
  2. Unaffiliated users must choose "Other Authorized Users."
