Q. Are there noise restrictions in the Library?

Answer:

The second floor of the library is a designated Quiet Zone. There are signs posted throughout as reminders.

If you encounter high noise levels on the second floor during normal business hours and don’t feel comfortable asking people to quiet down, please fill out THIS FORM. You may also feel free to come to the Library’s front desk on the first floor and report the noise. We will send someone upstairs to address the situation.

We don’t have a “quiet zone” policy for the first floor. This area is naturally busier due to printing and the TV commons area which is intended for quiet socialization. We do not object to students having their lunches and/or quiet conversations at the study tables or anywhere on the first floor.
